I bet you have one (or both) of these phrases on your website RIGHT NOW.
❌ Easy-to-Use
❌ Single source of truth
Here you can see three competitors in the project management space
(Asana, Wrike, and monday.com) all using them.
These phrases are so overused that they are essentially meaningless.
But more importantly, they are undifferentiated.
1️⃣ Single Source of Truth
Everyone is trying to become a platform these days, so EVERYONE is promising to be your single source of truth.
But rarely do companies SHOP for an all-in-one-platform.
The switching costs of leaving multiple legacy point solutions is extremely high and happens rarely in a company's lifecycle.
This is why PLG is so powerful — you can break up your platform into smaller, bite-sized point solutions that teams start to adopt, which builds credibility and can help make the case to adopt your entire platform.
But by leading with the platform message, you make your product exponentially harder to try (and thus harder to buy).
2️⃣ Easy-to-Use
If YOU talk about how good your user experience is, no one cares.
Of course YOU think its good → you built the dang thing!
It's like a used car salesman saying promising not to rip you off.
And even worse, EVERYONE says they have good user experience.
If you're going to talk about UX, let OTHER people say how easy-to-use your platform is.
Save those types of comments for testimonials!
